The great trichur pooram is famous for its charm, beauty, and elegance. The festival started during the time of "Sakthan Thampuran". There are two desams viz Paramakkevu and Thiruvambadi, who take active part in the festival. The two parties compete among each other on various events like procession of mighty gold-caparisoned elephants displaying the charm, beauty, elegance giving visual treat to the eyes of humane.
This takesplace at Vadakumnatha temple. The marvelous panchvadhyam and the pandi melam are the uniqueness of this festival. Great marars from all around Kerala assemble to perform and display their versatality.
